Here are a few apps and sites that I use on a daily basis for teaching.
- Evernote - Every piano student has his/her own digital notebook through the app Evernote. Families download the free app on a device that can be used during piano practice - phones, tablets, and computers all work. Each student's digital notebook contains the weekly lesson assignments, progress charts, policies, and any other helpful information. I love using Evernote because it's more organized and saves paper! I also love that Evernote allows for real-time collaboration, so students can type on it at home, and it instantly shows up on my end. We can also attach photos and videos - sometimes that's the best way to remember a new hand position or a funny rhythm.
- Music Teacher's Helper - I use this website to manage scheduling and studio finances. Each family can login with their specific username and password to view the calendar and invoices. It's a great way to double-check dates and times for upcoming lessons. Invoices are also payable through Music Teacher's Helper using Paypal. Contact me if you need your username and password.
- Flashnote Derby - This is a flashcard app to quiz note names. I find this app is a great hit with students, and I use it on a daily basis. It's easy to use at home too. It's a great way to keep reviewing note names throughout the week!
